In this photograph, dated 2002, John Daniels,
General Manager, and Paul Marcinko, Project Manager, stand in front of some
of the displays at the museum in the Belleview Biltmore Resort and Spa Historic
Hotel. This Hotel is a Landmark, with a colorful history, and Sarah Dees
wrote an article about the museum and had this photograph and others about
the hotel published in a national magazine. The ownership of the hotel has
changed hands many times and
as of this date there is still an ongoing struggle by local people to keep
the old hotel preserved and not allow it to be demolished for new development
of modern condos. It is a beautiful old hotel, which has undergone additions
and renovations, but still carries the character of the original structure
and its Florida history. The Belleview Biltmore Historical Museum was researched,
designed and framed by Sarah Dees, and is in the main lobby of the hotel,
which is
on the National Register of Historic Places.
